In Their Words: Retail Design and Delivery in Dubai

Earlier this month in Dubai, we brought together a small group of people who design and deliver retail spaces for an afternoon of stories, questions and conversation, hosted by the Department of State Development, South Australia, in partnership with TCPinpoint and Medialogic.

Event overview:

I shared how TCPinpoint started and what I’ve learned building it. One of our customers then took the room through their journey “From Complexity to Connected,” and what it took to bring their design and delivery process together. Then the questions started.

The one people kept coming back to was AI. How do you apply it to a process that isn’t linear? Retail design and delivery rarely moves neatly from step to step. It jumps across departments, often all at once. Nobody in the room pretended to have the full answer, which is exactly why the conversation was worth having.

We asked a few attendees what they took away:

For Misba Abbas Mithwani, Director – Development and Retail Design & Delivery, Al Ghurair Real Estate, the issue was efficiency under pressure:

“As teams get smaller, you need to be more efficient. Like Rachel said, so much communication gets lost between the emails and the WhatsApp messages, and it’s very important to tie them all together.”

Mark Holmans, Co-Founder, StradHolm technologies LLC, recognised the story from their own career:

“I’ve been through a similar journey. You could understand people’s frustrations when it was all disjointed. The ability to bring that all together is only going to make the business better.”

Rajesh Patil, Senior Business Development Manager, Bond Interiors described the afternoon as

“an eye opener, and a kick to everybody who wants to go to the next level.”

Sid Mehta, Regional Director MENA at the Department of State Development, South Australia, said the format struck the right balance:

“It was technical, but at the same time it was also informal. I’m looking forward to doing more events together with TCPinpoint and Medialogic, and for other South Australian companies.”

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to Medialogic and the Department of State Development, South Australia for making it happen.

We’ll be holding more of these sessions. If you’d like to be in the room next time, get in touch and we’ll make sure you’re on the list.
